Casa de Molcajetes: More Than a Business — A Legacy of Culture, Tradition, and Family
I’ve always been a dreamer, someone who creates big dreams in her heart. But for a long time, I didn’t have the courage to speak them out loud.
That’s something I’m ready to change. Not just for me, but to grow as a woman, a creator, and most importantly a mother. I want to show my two little ones that no matter what challenges we face, we can be brave, we can be entrepreneurs, and we don’t have to let fear or the opinions of others hold us back.
And I couldn’t do this alone. My husband has been by my side every step of the way, believing in this vision just as much as I do. His support, dedication, and shared love for our roots give me strength every single day. Casa de Molcajetes is a family effort, and it means everything to be building it together.
Casa de Molcajetes is my way of showing them that our culture matters. That tradition matters. That where we come from is something to be proud of.
This brand is a tribute to my Mexican roots and to the generations who came before me. Through this business, I get to teach my kids where I come from and share a part of that with families who may not know the richness of our traditions.
My grandfather taught my father and uncles the art of lapidary, a treasured, skilled tradition of shaping volcanic stone by hand. With that technique, they created molcajetes, metates, and beautiful figures that told stories of our land, our food, and our people.
Our hometown is over 450 years old, and to this day, dozens of artisans still shape molcajetes by hand to support their families. This is the legacy I come from. This is the tradition I hope to keep alive.
Casa de Molcajetes isn’t just about selling stone tools, it’s about honoring a culture, and passing down pride, identity, and love… one molcajete at a time.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for supporting something that comes from the heart.
Con mucho cariño,
Angelica Angeles
